This week we're talking about one of the most important female artists who carved out a career in the 20th century : Dame Barbara Hepworth.
Here you can see two of her pierced sculptures in what was once her garden and now part of the Barbara Hepworth museum in St Ives.
Hepworth wasn't only known for her incredible sculptures; she also spent a lot of time drawing. Here is one of her surgical pictures, which she created after observing doctors at work in a hospital.
Contrapuntal Forms : sculpture for the Festival of Britain in 1951.
